Does Artix use a proxy server by default? 18 June 2021, 17:44:45 I was having network problems with Palemoon (tried to login to Github, discovered that my ostensible location was different - and wrong (correct country, wrong city) - the 2 times I logged in recently, and I had to enter a device ID they sent me both times. Not bad actually for privacy, but for Github I don't really need it. I can send and receive emails without problems. I changed my Github password to be sure). I just discovered that Palemoon was set to "use system proxy settings".Does using a proxy help an attacker? And why would the country be correct if my system is compromised? rkhunter finds nothing, but it is rather lame. Will provide more info if needed.Edit: I set Palemoon to "No Proxy", and Github still asks for a device ID. My desktop settings are "Direct internet connection".Edit: I just installed librewolf from universe, and github still asks me for a device ID. (I have nothing to post there at the moment, it was just a check). I did add the site to librewolf's cookie settings (allow for session). What is wrong? It is clearly not a palemoon problem.Edit:I recreated my firewall according to the archwiki (Simple stateful firewall).I just found out that /etc/iptables/iptables.rules and /var/lib/iptables/rules-save differ. Is that normal? Last Edit: 23 June 2021, 19:16:02 by nokangaroo
