Hi ,

I randomly run the set command and besides normal variable definitions, it displays a lot bash code like this(i attach only few lines)>

Code: [Select]

And there is a lot more bash code like this untill the end.
I suppose it is another bug. I wanted to attach whole output, but was not permited because of size restriction.

https://www.gnu.org/software/bash/manual/html_node/The-Set-Builtin.html
Quote
If no options or arguments are supplied, set displays the names and values of all shell variables and functions, sorted according to the current locale, in a format that may be reused as input for setting or resetting the currently-set variables. Read-only variables cannot be reset. In POSIX mode, only shell variables are listed.

The manual on gnu.org differs from the bash manpage here, in that the bash manpage doesn't mention this.

Hi,

So what command do you use to display all set variables?

Thank you.

Hi,

So what command do you use to display all set variables?

Thank you.
As stated in the text I quoted earlier, functions are output in Bash-specific mode. When you run Bash as /bin/sh, or set the option posix, only shell variables are output:
Code: [Select]
$ /bin/sh -c set
and
Code: [Select]
$ set -o posix
$ set
both won't output function bodies.

Hi strajder,

Thanks for reply. Your solution actually works fine, as expected.
If i recall well,some year ago when i was using debian/devuan, the default
set command displayed output without the code block.

Thank you on more time for explanation.
