Hi, it would be possible to provide the final steps to get a working ARMtix? Tried to follow the original ones, but looks like something's missing, and tried to replicate your steps from the whole post, but honestly i got lost over them, so i would love to have a free-SystemD working RPi

I would also be very interested in a paint-by-numbers set of instructions for installation on a RPi.

This is what i dislike rpi4 for. This firmware is required by their boards

Is there an alternative board to the RPi that's compatible but doesn't require all of that,
or would that break programs like trunk-recorder which may rely upon it?

Compatible with what?
In general, i usually recommend RK3399-based boards since this SoC is both powerful and has good open source support. Also, there is Odroid N2+ which also has powerful SoC but less peripherials.
