can't re-install libquicktime openshot after upgrading packages & qbittorrent

Hey everybody! So I've upgraded all my packages manually because sudo pacman -Syyu just won't do it, but I've got a few packages that refuse to upgrade.

the 4 packages are:
libx264 libx264-all ffmpeg ffmpeg2.8

This error is happening on all 4 of my x64 computers with the same 4 packages.

Edit: I got rid of libquicktime, dvgrab & openshot, so now it will upgrade, but I unfortunately can't re-install libquicktime & openshot now, so I suppose that is now the problem.

Code: [Select]
sudo pacman -S libx264 libx264-all
resolving dependencies...
looking for conflicting packages...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: ffmpeg: installing libx264 (2:152.20171224-1) breaks dependency 'libx264.so=148-64'
:: ffmpeg2.8: installing libx264 (2:152.20171224-1) breaks dependency 'libx264.so=148-64'
:: libquicktime: installing libx264 (2:152.20171224-1) breaks dependency 'libx264.so=148-64'

sudo pacman -S libx264 libx264-all ffmpeg ffmpeg2.8

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: libquicktime: installing libx264 (2:152.20171224-1) breaks dependency 'libx264.so=148-64'

edit: now I'm also getting errors with qbittorrent.... I really gotta get this working, I was in the middle of downloading stuff.. I tried downloading the 4.0.3-2 package & installing it with pacman -U but it gives me this same error. I've found a temporary fix by downgrading "boost" to the extra/boost 1.65, I guess qbittorrent currently doesn't want to work with 1.66. Downgrading to 1.65 has also not stopped clementine from working, as I had a similar error the other day about it.
That thread can be found here: https://forum.artixlinux.org/index.php/topic,335.new.html#new
Code: [Select]
qbittorrent: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_system.so.1.65.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Wait, first things first, why doesn't '-Syu' work for you? Fix that, and I'm sure everything else will fix itself.

What? Why are you asking why it doesn't work after I've just explained it???? Did you not read what I wrote? Because that's what that response is telling me.

Ah, I'd misunderstood. I thought you'd directly jumped in to upgrading individual packages because -Syu wasn't working for a separate reason. My mistake.

that is what I thought he said...   I think English is his second language.

i have / had similar problem

Code: [Select]
$ pacman -Su
:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
looking for conflicting packages...
:: libx264-10bit and libx264 are in conflict. Remove libx264? [y/N] y
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: libquicktime: removing libx264 breaks dependency 'libx264.so=148-64'
(i removed some package version warnings...)

i was able to solve this by enabling community-testing repository in pacman.conf

Right now i am downloading all packages for this update (which will take some time)
so i don't know if things will work....
it looks to me more like problem in arch instead of artix.

looks like everything works fine...
