What am I doing wrong

I've been using Artix for about a year now and for some reason all new installations I make end up with the mirror lists not being recognized. I've been working on this issue for about 4 days now using 2 diffrent types of Init systems. These are the steps I go through each time I make a new install, tell me where I mess up if you can.

su
pacman-key --init
pacman-key --populate artix
- I uncomment every repo that has a # in the default pacman.conf
sudo pacman -Sy
- I'll install a couple packages along with AUR and it's keys
- Then I restart my computer
- Terminal login
- sudo pacman Syyu = failed to synchronize all databases (invalid url for server)

I used to put in my other configuration from this computer into new installations but now it doesn't work for some reason.

I did what you suggested earlier. There's no way I'd be able to send you the error log from that command. It's about 5 paragraphs large and I can't copy and paste it here due to no access to a browser through the terminal.

Maybe I'm not explaining it well enough, there's no desktop or anything the only thing I can do is type in commands.

There are ways and means to do so. Even reading your first post it's not stated how you are attempting to install Artix ? There's more than one way to do it.

To get the output on here you can

  • Redirect the output to a file
    and
    • reboot to a Live usb and then open the file
    • Copy the file to a usb and open on a pc with a desktop
  • Use a LIve usb on the device. Chroot to your new install and try out your commands. You can easily capture the output
There's more ways to do it.

If you want help the more detailed information you can provide the more likely someone will be able to help. Both commands entered and output received.

How exactly are you trying to install Artix ?
I've only used the iso's once or twice, on very temporary VM's I set up, and don't recall having issues like you describe.

I had a manual I made for myself that would work 100% of the time with new installations and it's outdated I suppose. There's commands such as " pacman -S artix-archlinux-support" that no longer work. I know about the Universe repo and that doesn't work for me to get the command working. This pacman file I posted works on my other computer just fine, I don't have any issues with it.

maybe you just defined your own problem....as per the wiki, you have to run artix-archlinux-support to enable the arch repo's, yet i do not see any reference to universe in your pacman.conf.   This is a prior "moved" installed laptop i'm typing from, so i just added universe, updated and installed artix-archlux-support without issue...I take it your other computer was installed a time ago so did have the package installed on it before it was moved to universe?  just add the universe, update, install the package, run sudo pacman-key --populate archlinux

Please edit the post and enclose the output in code tags. You can just select it and then click the '#' to the left above the smilies. I'd suggest always doing so when posting commands, output and log and config files. It makes them easier to read.

I asked how you are installing Artix? No answer.

Anyway I can see in that wall of text that you have the gremlins repo's enabled. Not a good idea, unless you really know what you want them for.
And the Universe repo is not enabled, though you claim it is or at least that you 'know about it', therefore "pacman -S artix-archlinux-support" will not work.

imho the whole essence of asking for support on a forum such as this should be to provide detailed information on exactly what you have done, detailed output and errors (presented in an easily readable format) , to answer reasonable questions when asked (even if they seem irrelevant) and (not directed at you exactly) when presented with links to check not reply "done / know all that.

I found out my issue. Someone long ago gave me a really fucked up pacman.conf file long ago over Discord. I've got it properly configured now, idk how it worked before.
