LXDE Login screen not working

Hello, I am using the LXDE desktop environment, and I have a problem:
when I first login on startup with the login screen, I can correctly login into the desktop, but after some time when the system goes into the lock screen mode, when I enter my password and login again, it displays a dark screen and I can't see anything on the screen nor press any button.

I have done two LXDE installs using the same bootable USB on two different computers, and peripherals, and the issue has repeated twice.
Also I have tried to disable the screen lock but I don't really know how to do it, and I want to keep it for security purposes.

Does anyone have an idea of how to repair this issue?

You could try installing Xfce, it is only a few megabytes and similar to LXDE, has some more functions. If that gives same result you have narrowed the problem down to a lightdm (login manager problem). For resetting LXDE I'm not sure, I see suggestions like backing up/deleting the entire user directory. Deleting lxde folders maybe. Maybe lightdm has a logging function.

An issue like this is usually not worth the trouble to fix. Have you checked md5 sum on the iso on the thumbdrive? I have several times had isos run, at least boot seemingly fine but turn out to have errors when installing. I guess I would just make a new usb drive and probably try the xfce iso also. Ventoy is a nice tool for booting several iso files, you may know about it.

Okay, I will try Xfce and see if it works.

I've wondered about this because it feels like these screen saves have trouble all the time.  Is lightlocker actually a broken program?

Why is xscreensave been sidelined?  It feels like this important programming problem that was solved in 1985 still doesn't work smoothly with linux.  With a laptop, you really have cause to have it lock when you walk away from it for some time.

I have replaced LXDE with XFCE like you wanted me to do, now I can log in correctly when there is a login screen.
