Need Assistance: prlimit: failed to set the NOFILE resource limit

prlimit: failed to set the NOFILE resource limit; Operation not permitted.

I've tried using ulimit command, prlimit, and editing /etc/security/limits.conf

to no avail, nothing seems to be working to set the limit higher, and without that I am unable to run Flatpak apps.

anyone more knowledgeable/experienced out there?
could really use the assist.

Looking at the exact commands you used, with output, and the contents of /etc/security/limits.conf I can see that.............
