Ping works correctly, when user is logged in, that is.
Are you saying you fixed it, or that it is working as intended?

Because I am pretty sure it is not working now.

lets test

@SGOrava

Was it broken? I did not notice, I received the notifications just fine.
What might be "broken" from users perspective are email notifications.

I get no notifications when pinged now, whereas they used to appear in the 'mentioned' section.
Email notifications I've had turned off for a long time so don't know about those ?
Something does appear to have changed.

I checked the system configuration.
- Internal notifications are enabled, as well as email ones.

I checked your profile settings.
- All forms of notifications are disabled.

Could be result of some caching or some forum updates, but all is enabled in the configuration I am aware of.
Your profile settings also have it enabled.

I just checked. The mentions from n00b to me in this thread are there if I click 'show all'. Yet I'd never been notified about them, i.e. the number that appears on the 'notification' button, or interacted with them before they seem to have self marked themselves as 'read'.
It's no biggie for me anyway.

none of that shows for me.
Show all shows nothing on mentions or anywhere else i can find.
Looks like a role issue?

@SGOrava  showed you do not have the notifications enable in the settings. Is this incorrect  ?

what he sees and what i see are very different.
as I said, none of that shows for me.

EDIT:
one has to hover over the modify profile box to get a pop up that gets you to the notifications settings.

so, yes I do have it, and it is now set.

rather surprising.

Wrong page.
Move the mouse over 'Modify profile", drop down appears, click notifications.

I apologize for not providing a complete way how to get to the settings.
I am so used to searching for almost hidden dots and menus in corporate software that I forgot.
