I am confused by the video.

They quote Hacker news (without saying so) quoting GrapheneOS (Without sourcing), instead of quoting GrapheneOS directly.

Then they seem to bash GrapheneOS over the quote. The quote is out of context and misleading.

These points seem way more heat than light.

They raised 1M$ to sell a phone that is worse than a pixel for security.

How is there value in this video?

To fully free your phone you can Linux.
As of today is not perfect thought https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Devices.

I do not like GrapheneOS because it makes you use google hardware.
I have no idea if there are backdoors as somebody like to state.

That's not really fair. GrapheneOS will work on any phone that allows third party rom signing. Pixel is the only phone to do that, right?

postmarketos not fully free, right? still have blobs that do whatever they want, right?

Freephone is probably the most open, but does not have rom signing for third parties, which pixel has.
Goggle's pixel is an open source as you can get, and safer, even more with graphene.

I guess the pixel platform is looked at pretty hard, and if there were backdoors, they would probably be known, at least in older generations.

Pixel 8 and above with Graphene, from a hardware pov, AFAIK beat pegaus. Not sure anyone comes close.

Pretty amazing how you manage to completely miss the point made in the video.
Point here, encryption is useless with any AI embedded OS, since it takes screenshots while you encrypt something.
Big brother watches you and reports back to HQ while you think you'd encrypt something, do online banking, write naughty love letters whatever.
Do you get it?

Yup, it was reported in this thread and I actually confirmed safetycore had been silently installed in every single Android phone of friends or colleagues I got my hands on. There are so many things I'd like to say, but I won't "because reasons".
