Title: Problems with Tor Browser
Post by: devyan on 26 February 2021, 01:29:07
I just moved to Artix from Mint, and I was having some issues with tor browser (installed from the tor website). It gives me the problems you see in the screenshots. e.g. videos wont play and github doesn't load. I'm not sure how I go about fixing this and I'm sure there's probably more things I'm missing that i haven't come across yet.

Isn't that just noscript blocking scripts by default? I think the tor browser is configured to do that if my memory is correct. Seems like normal behavior (no javascript == sites not loading certain assets and so on).

So I did a fresh tor install disabled all the add-ons. That didn't fix it.

Then I did a fresh Artix install and then installed tor (from the site) and it worked.

I found this reddit thread which seems to suggest that its glibc or some dependency ( I don't really understand what these terms mean).

Until I understand it better I guess I'll just avoid updating anything as a temporary fix.
