Title: Why is the gnupg package on a development version?
Post by: CustomerServiceRobot on 14 May 2021, 08:36:50
The arch package is on 2.2.27-1, but the artix package is on 2.3.1-1. When I attempt to import keys using gpg --recv-keys, it refuses to continue and gives the following message:

Quote
gpg: NOTE: THIS IS A DEVELOPMENT VERSION!
gpg: It is only intended for test purposes and should NOT be
gpg: used in a production environment or with production keys!

because archlinux? https://github.com/archlinux/svntogit-packages/commits/packages/gnupg/trunk

they repaced 2.3.1 back by 2.2.7, but no entry in git history...but we didn't get no info about change

i think, they put "wrong" version, and after in silence replaced by "stable"  version

Yeah this was a sneak attack by archlinux. They had 2.3.1 for a while, we followed, and then they quietly removed it.

Edit: 2.3.1 is gone from our repos now. You can install 2.2.27 again from system.
