Title: How to install chinese fonts properly?
Post by: wanwalk on 22 December 2021, 17:26:14
Hi !

I want to install chinese fonts under OpenRC but I have not found any instructions for Artix and I am unsure about trying Arch Linux literature, due to possible systemd issues and all that. I have also no idea which fonts to install or how to choose from the many available.

My locale -a:
Code: [Select]
locale -a
C
POSIX
en_US.utf8
pt_PT.utf8
sv_SE.utf8
zh_CN.utf8

At the moment I will be glad to just be able to read chinese texts on Firefox and Libre Office, and to be able to write chinese texts via some online chinese input method (on Firefox), and finally copy-&-paste   such texts into Libre Office and save them both as .odt and .pdf.

I will be thankful for links.

p.s.: Running on a computer with a core2 Duo, in case that should matter.

Check IBus (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/IBus) for input framework. You may also need noto font family to display the font characters right.
