Title: Lightdm Only Enables HDMI Monitor After Switching from OpenRC to Dinit
Post by: TrueTechie on 24 January 2022, 06:06:42
Hello, I decided to try out dinit today and found that it is very fast and simple to use. However, I have one issue that I noticed after following the init-switching steps on the Wiki: When I first boot with Lightdm, my main monitor connected by display port does not turn on. Everything works as intended after launching my desktop environment, but I never had this problem on OpenRC. Any ideas?

Perhaps lightdm starts a little too soon under dinit, before full device initialization?

I guess that's always possible. What exactly could I do to test or change that?

I'm not versed in dinit (I use openrc). Perhaps the lightdm-dinit package has a dependency check you can implement to make it start later, say after agetty.
