Title: Replace ffmpeg-compat-58 with world/ffmpeg4.4??
Post by: sticksix on 18 February 2022, 20:54:18
System upgrade is asking to replace "ffmpeg-compat-58" with "world/ffmpeg4.4".

Just checking if this is advisable as I hadn't seen any announcement relating to the ffmpeg issues.

Thanks

Whenever pacman asks you to replace some package with another (provided you have set up Artix repositories correctly (https://wiki.artixlinux.org/Main/Repositories)), it is perfectly safe to answer Y. This is a way to replace obsolete packages with the correct ones.

Ok great. That is the tact I've normally taken but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask given the recent issues concerning ffmpeg

Thanks a lot!!
