Title: [SLOVED] Nvidia-uvm not loading.
Post by: Neavah on 18 December 2022, 22:56:20
hello, I had Nvidia not working since yesterday and I tried the Nvidia and Nvidia-dkms packages to no avale (is that even right??) This is a fresh install.

lspci
Code: [Select]
dpaste.com/96UJKJVL2C

lsmod | grep nouv
Code: [Select]
dpaste.com/885X39JKJ

lsmod | grep nvidia
Which is nothing.

doing sudo modprobe nvidia-uvm gives
modprobe: ERROR could not insert nvidia-uvm: no such device.

Tried to block nouveau and it didn't work.

what can I do?

'brigado!

edit:

i had to reinstall the kernel

As in Xorg does not start?
What Desktop Environment and login manager are you using?

Also the first pastebin link for lspci doesn't work, if it's not too long just post em here.

Nvidia driver doesn't load and xorg doesn't load

I'm using bspwm and lightdm if xorg tries to load it just looks like this
