Hello,
is there a simple guide on how I can install Libreoffice fresh and in German? I couldn't find anything in Pamac 10.4.3.1. There is only libreoffice-fresh-rpm and this one I can't install.
Thanks for infos.
Greetings Susanne
Hi there,
its in the Arch extra repo, so add that if its not already there (see the wiki how to add arch repo's https://wiki.artixlinux.org/Main/Repositories) and install from there for: libreoffice-fresh-de for the language pack and obviously the usual libreoffice-fresh package (good to get in the habit of using pacman not pamac) The .rpm is in AUR, no need to use that if the package is in an official repo which is the safe option btw.
Hello,
thanks for the quick information. I was able to install the additional repos Universe and Omniverse and then also libreoffice-fresh. Unfortunately I could not find a German language extension. How can I integrate the German language?
like i said, you need to add the arch repo's as per the link I provided as the german language pack is in there (arch's extra repo). Once thats done, just install at the command line: sudo pacman -Syu libreoffice-fresh-de
Great, that worked. But are all these many repos necessary (gremlins, system, world, galaxy-gremlins, galaxy,universe,omniverse,lib32,extra,community, multilib) just to run libreoffice-fresh?? That's amazing :P
hopefully you didn't unhash all of them, as that'll break it sooner or later ref. gremlins which is a testing repo etc! Just read the repo page for what they are as they are system repo's etc, as in for the actual operating system, the only one for libreoffice-fresh were universe and the arch repo extra for the language pack for german. As you have pamac, i'm assuming you loaded a community edition hence omniverse is there too, unless you installed pamac from aur that is.
No, I don't have a Community Edition installed, I installed a stable Plasma Edition as usual and then additionally installed yay and pamac so that I can manage programs more easily. I simply deleted the corresponding repos in pacman.conf and now they are no longer available in the software center.
got, it, hopefully you didn't delete any of the following: system/world/galaxy/lib32/universe (pamac will only show the ones that are enabled)
No, see picture :P
Since last update, german is lost. It ist not possible to change the default language in LO.

I'll have a dig and see what comes up
well, as long as the language pack is installed, a quick google gave this and it worked for me (slightly different place but only took a sec to find it):
https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/why-are-language-extensions-not-visible-selectable/7517
It's annoying. Nearly every LO update make Problems.
German is also not work with LO-still.
Why?
But this solution don't work. Shown on my screenshot.
Here ist the correct foto
an update has just come in and all's good in the language section, cheers whomever fixed that on a sunday of all days! thats obviously not the right screen shot, blame it on the sunday afternoon wine...
that's better...
