Title: laptop keys change when opening gui programs
Post by: slickwilliepickle53 on 17 July 2023, 14:30:36
every time i open firefox some of the keys on my laptop print out codes instead of letters. in the terminal the letter s prints 361;3u b prints 362;5u p prints 362u k prints nothing, escape doesnt work. other keys seem fine. i ctrl alt f3 (tty) and p still doesnt work. if i stay in the terminal and do not open any gui programs it is fine. i think it only happens when i open gui programs.

i use kitty, bash, awesome, lenovo think pad e550.

thanks for your help.

How do you open awesomewm, from tty or with lxdm/sddm?
Would also probably help the output of the command 'env' from within the desktop somehow if you can do it, like through a command shortcut, i'm sure it supports those.
