Title: switch to icewm how?
Post by: hastur on 29 May 2024, 11:53:12
I usually put icewm in .xinitrc in my user home  (my user named 'g')
xfce start up with login page but the bit at the bottom is too annoying.
What is the trick to turn off xfce and start icewm?

Some display managers examine ~/.dmrc:

    [Desktop]

I disabled elogind and some other stuff with dinitctl diable elogind    etc

forgot what last one listed few below elogind was but it ended my x session

rebooted and put 'icewm' in .xinitrc

installed icewm and xterm (I was sure I had already installed icewm, but hey)

then it works

hmmmmmmm
