well, it did happen on linux 2/3 month ago..
there was a kernel incompatibility with the crowdstrike agent, wich caused a kernel crash.
on rhel distro and debian (example here https://www.reddit.com/r/debian/comments/1c8db7l/linuximage61020_killed_all_my_debian_vms/)
but that was way more discrete than yesterday  :D

and there is already a wikipedia page related to this incident:

Crowdstrike is just not doing the necessary QA anymore...
