gotten tired of scouring the internet at this point, so I'll just ask here, since I'm on Artix anyways. I can't seem to get LXQt's wayland session to work with KWin Wayland, no matter what things I try. When I set it to KWin wayland, it just boots me back to SDDM or spams a message like
Gtk-Warning: Could not find display:
about 8 times before it quits trying to run if i run it in a TTY.
tried s6, did not like it, also had the same problem, I'm on dinit now.
labwc & wayfire lxqt sessions work. haven't tried others besides kwin_wayland, which does not work. kwin_wayland works on its own at the moment, and KDE Plasma also works (which uses kwin_wayland).
Advice please?
Make sure nothing else takes tty and it's exclusively available for SDDM. Had similar problems with rootless xorg and turns out agetty was sitting on tty1, SDDM can't change ttys with normal user. It's entirely SDDM fault, back in the day you could specify which tty it needs to eat, but now it's automatic without a way to change it.
but startlxqtwayland works with other compositor options in other TTYs
just not kwin_wayland
Were you able to get lxqt to work with kwin_wayland finally? If yes what were the steps that you do?
I have been trying to get lxqt to work with wayland and specifically with kwin_wayland but I am drawing a black.
