so on my elitedesk 800 g4 i have tried to install freebsd several times but it wont boot to desktop

i followed their install instructions and freebsd installs fine
but after following their instructions for xorg and i915 drivers and mate and ligtdm and the greeter i get a boot that gets stuck. UGH! so frustrating. some errorabout drm initialized but it stops there. Guess i'll have to make my way back to their forums and see what's up. took up my whole morning. feel like my time is wasted.

Have you tried DragonFly BSD?

I don't know, but from what I read it would be the most user-friendly of the DSDs...

got a dual arm vesa mount to declutter the desktop just a bit
