So I guess I Dremel it and cut some slats above where the vent should be?
So.eone has a better idea?

i saw some come with vented tops but try and buy just a vented top there are none on ebay anyway.
those pic are funny!!!!!
The vented tops are the 65W models, as opposed to the 35W ones.
trying to figure out how to get a vented top. i think i ordered a lot of 3 motherboard only machines with vented tops for 30$ plus 20$ shipping. i made an offer of 15$ and asked them to send me one at normal usps rates. we'll see how that goes. If i get the 65 watt mb i'll use the pro ge 2400 chip in it with the power supply that came with the 8500t machine. the 705 65 watt mb has two nvme slots like the 8500 t machine does. that'll give me a mother board and hopefully a vented slot top to fit the 8500t machine with the rx 560 in it.
i'm liking these little machines. they should make more like this with newer graphics cards for more recent models.
so i mean i think it wold be ok right to put the 35 watt processor into the 65 watt motherboard yes? i mean the processor is only gonna draw what it wants and no more? the motherboard isn't gonna force feed it 65 watts until it vomits it up right?
You are good.
I am a bit worried that you might not be able to swap processors, but I am often wrong.
And so i ordered a lot of 3 65 watt amd motherboards with am4 platform and their cases with vented tops for 30$ plus 20$ shipping. should come monday. the fan only w/o heat sink was 10 plus tax only, free shipping. that'll arrive when it arrives i guess. I have every other part i need. all three mb come with wifi antennas built in. none have the front vents. i guess i try to sell them off and recover some cash. I only wanted one but they refused to sell me only one. the people who would only sell me one didnt have the top vented cove which i need for =machine above.
It never ceases to amaze me how cheap you can buy some things in the US of A.
Me too.
I am also surprised to see that there are stores in the USA specializing in vintage electronics.

i asked to be sure. he said he stripped down all working units of their parts and that these motherboards all posted.
so i tried the 35 watt processor in the 65 watt motherboard with both my 65 watt psu and my 150 watt psu but none of them would give a signal out. I also truied plugging in my rx 560 into the mxm slot but also couldnt get a signal out.

according to their manual it should be able to take the g or the ge processor.
Could there be a CPU motherboard binding code in the ryzen cpu's?
so im gonna order another 2400 pro ge and see if that makes a difference.
