I just added kdeadmin, which installed fine. Then I tried kde-applications and it fails with a 404 on all the mirrors.
I ran pacman-key --refresh-key and it added a few, but same result.
I tried installing yt-dlp itself, and it failed. The actual file it is looking for is
yt-dlp-2025.03.21-1-any.pkg.tar.zst
Help please!
Should it not be yt-dlp instead of yt-dip ?
Yes.
I'm posting from a working machine and typed it wrong.
yt-dlp is the correct name. (modified original)
This is just a stab in the dark suggestion, but have you updated db (or whatever it's called) lately? I often get errors from pacman if I haven't done -Syyu recently. I think basically your local db thinks (for example) that version 0.5 is available but really it's not there, instead there's 0.6, and so you get 404 errors.
Maybe this is wrong but in my experience, doing -Syyu fixes any 404 errors.
Of course I did that before I started!
I found the --ignore switch, which then found that "audiotube" had a failed dependency. Perhaps this is because yt-dlp isn't installing, or maybe it is the cause of the failure in yt-dlp.
Anyhow, I did the pacman -Suyy thing, just to show you - and of course it worked. so you were right (which is very annoying of you :)
KDE came up, but after login and kde gear I just get a black screen and a "Add Widgets" bar across the bottom.
Well I did have a feeling that would fix it as it sounded familiar. Unfortunately I don't use KDE so I have no idea what could have gone wrong with that particular interface.
