Title: Linux-rt kernel outdated
Post by: yoyo55 on 28 March 2025, 15:37:55
In the past the linux-rt package was not so far away from the latest release at kernel.org
Now, since realtime patch set is fully merged in to the mainline kernel, I was first hoping that packing linux-rt will be now much easier and there will be more frequent linux-rt updates.
It seems, the opposite is the case: since fully merged into mainline, linux-rt is updated even less often then before.
Can some one please explain to me, why linux-rt from artix or arch repo is now at 6.10 but latest stable kernel is at 6.14.
This is 4 versions behind.
Are there any new issues that are not discussed in public?
Do you think, future linux-rt updates will come more frequent then, again?

Generally Artix packages follow the Arch releases so when Arch update it that should get reflected here.
Why Arch is behind I don’t know ? It is flagged out of date here https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/linux-rt/
