Title: firefox 138.0.1 some settings unavailable
Post by: stamasd on 02 May 2025, 22:29:41
My firefox was updated today to 138.0.1
I noticed that newly opened tabs are now blank, instead of opening by default to my custom search page. And indeed, in the settings the setting for "new tabs" under "home" defaults to "blank page" and it's greyed out and cannot be changed.
This was not the case with any previous version of firefox.
I assume it's a bug, possibly a bad configuration sent along with this new version.
I will link below to a screenshot showing the problem.

notice that the setting for new tabs is grey and cannot be changed.

Hello
i have exactly the same issue here, with firefox 138.
blank page on a new tab, and in the settings, "blank page" is selected and greyed out.
no issue with the previous version.

I just upgraded and did not see any problems compared to the 137 version. I do have a customized home and new tab page. And its behaviour is unchanged.
