Title: postfix package problem
Post by: mrbrklyn on 08 May 2025, 04:17:50
One of my auxiliary mail servers is having trouble after an upgrade.  postfix can't read the hash tables of its databases.  I tried a new aliases file and when I run newaliases the system complains that it can't find dictionary type and asks if the package postfix-hash is installed.

I can't find such a package or anything like it.

Yes, this was a questionable update/deprecation from postfix. We got ourselves some offline interval in email operations too.

Wietse is usually pretty solid.  It is not like him to do things without a cause.
