Title: foot terminal
Post by: iwuvkittens on 24 August 2025, 11:29:34
Hello,

I would like to know why foot, the terminal emulator, is not packaged. I was unable to find anything.
It's packaged in the extra repo in arch. From my brief understanding, I know it was previously packaged.

The foot package is available in the omniverse repository (https://wiki.artixlinux.org/Main/Repositories#Omniverse).

Hello,

Thank you, sorry from the package search on the website I was unable to query that,
and I don't have the sync databases locally. It says it's not recommended, I'm going
to assume that's because of some sort of incompatibility? Could you elaborate, thanks.

Uh, it is not 'not recommended' but not officially supported.
It's being kept up to date and any issues are handled on 'best effort' basis.
There should be no problem in using it.

Thank you for your responses, I see, shortly after posting that message
I clicked on the unofficial repository link below and saw it listed there,
sorry for my negligence. Since it's maintained by you, and you are
an artix dev I'll trust it. Thanks for your time.
