I run awesome wm, and after yesterdays update I don't get the icon for volume in the panel.

I have the same problem on 2 computers.
If I start it from the terminal it gives no output and I also don't get back the prompt so it is running.
$ volumeicon
^C
$ volumeicon &
[1] 5111
$ ps | grep volumeicon
5111 pts/7 00:00:00 volumeicon
So I guess the problem is with the panel in awesome.
It is related to this. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=308456
Downgrading gdk-pixbuf2 temporarily solved the problem.
Not here on Artix OpenRC Xlibre XFCE...
Do you use the package volumeicon, or does xfce have its own icon? Maybe it's integrated in xfce?
Solved by update to glycin.
Not here on XFCE.
When I run volumeicon in a terminal, I don't get an error message, but the icon still doesn't appear in the panel.
I'm sorry, I was to fast to say it was solved yesterday. Today no icon again.
For me it's solved by recompiling gdk-pixbuf2 in the old way. They have put it in the aur now, gdk-pixbuf2-noglycin. I compiled it in the same way, but kept the name gdk-pixbuf2 to get updates from official repo. A lot of packages depend on it, and I prefer to loose the icon again than having a bigger crasch after update.
I worked around the problem by placing a launcher to qasmixer (it also works for alsamixer or pavucontrol) in the panel.
