Thanks to the team for my enrolment on this forum. I've just installed Artix on my white macbook, 13 years old. So far all what I need works perfectly: printer Hp LaserJet 1018, scanner Epson Perfection V39, webcam iSight and wifi.
No problem with TeXlive and TeXmaker.
For the next days I'm trying to setup Samba and install Skype.

Welcome, and I wish I had your lack. I have two multimachines with scanner and I haven't been able to get either to work, printing is OK. But this is not an artix problem, it doesn't work anywhere. The problem is with the crap I end up with without any open source sw or linux support.
