Quick question about Plasma

Should be a really easy one to answer I am new here so apologies if I don't get things right. I know it's unsupported as standard but does anyone know if the reason I have a "branded" KDE Plasma desktop installed on my laptop with theming by default is because I am using the default install. I have no problem with changing themes or uninstalling stuff.

However I would like to know if there is (either in the default repo or otherwise) a vanilla stock unbranded KDE desktop which is pre-compiled and whether I need to add a repo to get this. It's just a specific requirement that I need to have the desktop stock as I like to customise from the ground up, instead of the other way round although I do like the theme I'd probably be happy installing the themed version on anyone else's system.

I'm sorry the question isn't as good as "how do you create a regex to extract the number of stars in the universe to the nearest 5000"..

Thanks in advance - ccoe

not sure, what you mean with  unbranded KDE and  branded KDE . Archlinux provides unbranded KDE , they add nothing, just compile KDE from sources.
If you like and want a specific thema, just add it via settings manager in KDE. What use Archlinux is default thema.

some themes you can find in https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?q=theme or in https://aur.archlinux.org too. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KDE can maybe help too

:D Yes that's it. It's an old Gentoo term - I have come from Gentoo because my old PC is struggling...

In Gentoo you could set a flag branding to by default not install stuff with customised settings.

Thank you have given me the answer I need very quickly too..

Perhaps you'll find this topic interesting on how to revert to completely vanilla KDE (or any other DE for that matter), if for some reason you can't apply different themes.

There's vanilla Artix KDE ISO if you like. Download that one.
