Current LTS kernel has malware that will kill Nvidia Quadro FX770M GPU

Surely kernel devs must know what they are doing? No, the patch is in there and they didn't check.
Possibly other old NVIDIA GPU's could be affected too, who knows. The function modified is called very often but something odd happens on rare occasions and the push buffer contents must get mangled causing the freeze bug, putting more stuff in there will only alter the mangled result, which may be good or very bad at this low level. Although usually code won't break hw there are exceptions, some I've found by myself.  :D

Just today installed nouveau to an old GT210/NV50 and moved away promptly because it wouldn't allow suspend. Guess I was lucky.
