s6-fdholder-retrieve error while loading shared libraries after first upgrade 24 March 2021, 23:51:29 Hi, I made an account here because searching for this error returned nothing. I've just done a fresh install of artix and after running pacman -Syu I got this error message - s6-fdholder-retrieve error while loading shared libraries libskarnet.so.2.9. Cannot open shared object: Directory or file does not exist. It downloaded everything, it was when it had to install it I got this message. Now the database is locked. I've only ever used arch and systemd so I have no idea what this means
Re: s6-fdholder-retrieve error while loading shared libraries after first upgrade Reply #1 – 25 March 2021, 01:34:54 There's been a major version upgrade of skalibs since the last stable iso. We are on libskarnet.so.2.10 currently. Not sure why that particular message would pop up though. It means something is being called that still is linked to/depends on the old version of skalibs. That, however, shouldn't be the case after a full upgrade. What do you mean by "the database is locked"? Last Edit: 25 March 2021, 03:17:19 by Dudemanguy
Re: s6-fdholder-retrieve error while loading shared libraries after first upgrade Reply #2 – 25 March 2021, 05:55:47 After a fresh install you should do pacman -Syyu (note the double y, to force a refresh of the package databases).
Re: s6-fdholder-retrieve error while loading shared libraries after first upgrade Reply #3 – 25 March 2021, 12:21:11 Ah yeah, I forgot about -Syyu. I just reinstalled manually in the end, I was lazy and used the GUI installer initially
