HIDS

Hi guys,

I will be reinstalling my laptop in few days.Beside the common security programs which are present in official repositories i would like to install some HIDS  for example TRIPWIRE or AIDE.

Unfortunately they are only in AUR. What i have seen on youtube i have two options>

1. I download PKGBUILD on AUR and manually  install the package.

2. First i install YAY and let it install all thing necessary.


My question is , when i manually install the package, could it break dependencies of my main programs while upgrading?

No.

But you'll sometimes need to update you AUR packages after system updates, as shared libraries change and they stop working.
