[SOLVED] Gnome/Budgie: "Oh no! Something has gone wrong."

Greetings, Artix forums! I hope this post finds you well.

I recently upgraded everything on my system, and now I get this lovely error from Gnome (and Gnome-based environments such as Budgie):

I have no idea what's going on here -- I've tried looking up lots of similar issues, but nothing quite matches mine. I might as well preface and say that I can use my system normally on Gnome -- all I have to do is move to a different desktop, and I'm good to go. However, closing the error window ends up logging me out of my system.
When I tried to do the package upgrade, I had these conflicting packages appear, effectively preventing me from performing the upgrade:
Code: [Select]
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: installing elogind (246.10-4) breaks dependency 'systemd' required by chromium
:: installing libelogind (246.10-4) breaks dependency 'systemd-libs' required by clamav
:: installing elogind (246.10-4) breaks dependency 'systemd' required by lib32-systemd
:: installing elogind (246.10-4) breaks dependency 'systemd' required by onboard
:: installing elogind (246.10-4) breaks dependency 'systemd' required by phodav
:: installing elogind (246.10-4) breaks dependency 'systemd' required by python-pyudev
:: installing libelogind (246.10-4) breaks dependency 'systemd-libs' required by rpcbind

Because of that, I had ended up using pacman -Syudd to process the upgrade. After that, I had rebooted my machine, and now I keep getting the error. I believe it's something that had to do with Gnome packages. Here's what /var/log/pacman.log showed me:

At this point, I'm kind of stuck. Could anyone possibly provide me assistance with resolving this? My kernel version is (according to uname -r) 5.10.42-1-lts, and I am using runit as my init system. If I miss any information essential to fixing this, please let me know, and I'll gladly include it. Many thanks for considering my request.

pacman -Syudd is pretty much asking for system breakage. Your bug could be caused by literally any of the upgraded packages, even those unrelated to these packages you weren't able to upgrade.

If you asked anyone here, they'd point you to https://forum.artixlinux.org/index.php/topic,2707.0.html, which has the correct solution (installing artixlinux-archlinux-support).

But now it's too late, pacman has no easy way to install missing dependencies (at least that I'm aware of). You'll need to cook up a very long bash command to find and install missing dependencies, or reinstall your system.

My problem is that I already have artix-archlinux-support installed. I don't know what else could have gone wrong.

WOW , No wonder it doesn't work when you probably smashed the system. Congratulations!

Try to use pacman -Syyu for the beginning

which exactly version of artix-archlinux-support  have you installed?

Yeahh.... excuse my lack of knowledge.

Running pacman -Q artix-archlinux-support returns version 1-3. I'll be sure to use -Syyu in the future.

To be fair, some of this is our fault. clamav in our repos has a systemd-libs deps that still needs to be removed. I do see some somewhat concerning things in there though. I have no idea how you have rpcbind from arch's repos instead of ours because it absolutely does not depend on systemd. Also you should get rid of lib32-systemd and use Artix's lib32 repos.

he probably download and manually installed rpcbind from archlinux website, this rpcbind have as deps systemd-libs and systemd

not in future, do it now. upgrade your system, and report your problematic packages (which broking update) again please. version1-3 is ok.

Firstly, I'll say that all the packages in the initial errors shown aren't installed on my system. I had even checked with the Q flag -- nothing came up. It's quite strange considering what has happened so far.

Secondly, I've disabled the multilib repo and enabled lib32. I then ran pacman -Syyu and fixed up version errors that appeared by simply downgrading the packages. Everything is installed as normal from what is seen. It seems like doing that with the repos fixed the problem, which was quite strange.

TLDR: Problem resolved after switching from [multilib] to [lib32] and performing a system upgrade. Thank you very much for the assistance, everyone! Marked as solved.
