Not a solution. Not a KISS approach. The answer: its too complicated, don't use it doesn't satisfy anyone. Not to mention the ports. Oh wow!
Are you talking to yourself? :P

stubby is not something for beginners, as already explained.

For me (and others who use Artix and other non-systemd distros) the wrongs of systemd far outweigh any perceived benefits. You can check out the links in my signature for more details:

https://suckless.org/sucks/systemd
https://nosystemd.org/

You are, of course, free to use whatever system you feel like (even multiple systems!). But please don't preach systemd on a forum of a non-systemd distro. That is called trolling.
Not a solution. Not a KISS approach  either. The packages are broken, but  when I went out of my way to report it, I got the following answer: its too complicated, don't use it (is this the new euphemism for broken? Just like telemetry a new euphemism for spyware?). If I didn't care, then I wouldn't be posting. I did cared, I just simply could had not registered. The answer: don't use it, because its only for advanced users, its too complicated doesn't satisfy me. Quite contrary. All people with systemd can enjoy simplicity of starting and running services (or running them at all!). How can I convince them to switch. How? I cannot. They download, try  to run it (runit -pun intended) and zonk! It simply doesn't work. Runnit cannot start services. Oh wow! Who broke it? Me? Definitely not me! Do I want to run stubby on port 853. I do. But you answer is: don't bother its for gurus, its too complicated for you is tacky and low class.

Of course you do whatever you want. Me? As I already had said: go f... and make your own distro.

I don't think there's any point in continuing to troll this thread. Multiple users have pointed out what the issue is here (using a port <= 1024) and how you can use the stubby service. There is no problem with any of the packages. You just need to configure the correct settings. I'm not going to bother commenting on the rest of the rant.

P.S. you can use ports under 1024. Someone else already explained how to do that but you of course ignored them.
