Hostname keep changing to "debian" automatically post boot 22 November 2021, 18:37:59 Issue: Hostname keep changing to "debian" automatically post boot- /etc/hosts & /etc/hostname both have right machine name listed.- while booting the original hostname assigned shows up offering you to login.- But once you open qterminal post complete bootup hostname has changed to debian.Unable to figure up why it is happening and this happens every bootup.
Re: Hostname keep changing to "debian" automatically post boot Reply #1 – 22 November 2021, 19:20:55 This is what happens when you distrohop.Seriously, install Artix packages from Artix repositories without leftover configuration files from Debian, problem solved.
Re: Hostname keep changing to "debian" automatically post boot Reply #2 – 22 November 2021, 19:21:38 Is the output of hostname -f correct? If so, you might try to temporarily move .config/qterminal.org to some other name/location and start and check qterminal again.
Re: Hostname keep changing to "debian" automatically post boot Reply #3 – 22 November 2021, 19:27:46 Did you boot up debian live image on this machine? If so, the hostname could come from dhcpd (youre router). dhcpd caches mac-ip-hostname for some time. You could flush it from your router or wait for 1 or 2 days. The cache will expire and your new hostname will be accepted.
