One of the main differences between the different 'Top level' distros is package management.
If you prefer a different package managers approach it might be better to use a distro that uses it.
Or you could approach the developers of the the package manager you believe is doing it wrong, in this case pacman, and ask them to change to doing it your preferred way.
AFAIK the Artix devs are not involved in the development of pacman ?
So venting your frustrations with pacman here is unlikely to further your cause.
