[SOLVED] Adding AUR repos totally breaks down system

Hello, I tried more than 3 times to add arch repos by following this guide Artix wiki.
I also added universe repos but not testing.

I managed to install ungoogled-chromium from the aur repo and everything seems to work perfectly but when I restart system it breaks down. I can't connect to the internet, can't read any other disks or partitions besides artix's, can't even change display resolution and it changes from monitor's native.

ungoogled chromium is available in the universe repo which is part of artix not the aur

please post you pacman.conf so we may sort it out.  thanks.

you universe repo belongs up with artix not down past arch.   it makes a difference and could wreck your system if you do not edit it.  use the example above to replace the relevant sections and if you use mulltilib in arch enable lib32 in artix also .  You can literally copy and paste the relevant sections above into your pacman.conf.  that should sort you out.

nearer to the top i have an ignore package with some virtualbox stuff listed there you wouldn't need i just choose to use dkms so i put those packages on ignore as artix wants to update my dkms.


And so what i want to say is this:  The reason why arch repos should always be last if used at all is because they have duplicate names.  If artix needs a dependency for something in the universe repo it will pull it from artix first and other repos and then arch last.  This is to avoid pulling in systemd dependent software.


Now the way you had it, the artix universe repo after arch repos,  so if the dependency you needed was in the universe repo it would pull it from arch first.
