Re: Hostname sometimes resetting to "artixlinux" Reply #15 – 02 December 2022, 18:41:59 @gripped Thank you for the suggestion! But no, I checked and networkmanager is not in use, and was not in the OpenRC services.Just to be sure and certain, I just pacman-R'd the package networkmanager.I use connman (and connman-gtk) instead of networkmanager. But just now I tried disconnecting/reconnecting from connman, and nothing bad happened.
Re: Hostname sometimes resetting to "artixlinux" Reply #16 – 02 December 2022, 19:18:14 It looks like connman can be as annoying as networkmanager ?https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/ConnMan#Avoid_changing_the_hostname/etc/connman/main.conf:Code: [Select][General]AllowHostnameUpdates=false Last Edit: 02 December 2022, 19:24:17 by gripped 3 Likes
Re: Hostname sometimes resetting to "artixlinux" Reply #17 – 02 December 2022, 19:55:26 @gripped Spot on! You were absolutely right!!I managed to have a scenario where the hostname would reliably change: it was when I used connman to switch from wlan0 to eth0, or the reverse. So I applied your fix, did again the critical scenario, and now the hostname doesn't change anymore!!Thank you so much.
