Display turns black when I change resolution.

The Issue

Hi, I've been running Artix for almost a year without any major issues so far.

I don't know how this occurred, but my machine will only accept one resolution for the laptop display, which is not the default one for the display. Whenever I change resolution using xrandr, the display turns completely black.

The default resolution on my Thinkpad Z13 Laptop is 1920x1200, but I am stuck on 2880x1800, which is an unusable.

I do not have this issue on my external monitor, I can use the default without problem.

What I Have Tried

1. I tried changing kernels, which worked at first.

I transitioned to the zen kernel, and the issue originally disappeared, but came back after a reboot. I then installed the LTS kernet, without any luck.

2. I tried changing window manager.

I switch to the most minimal .xinitrc config possible, only running twm, and the issue persisted.

Thank you for your help!

With a somewhat similar issue I reduced the refresh rate from 60 to 59.95 Hz and this somehow fixed it.

I just remembered I had a similar issue once, and I managed to fix it this way, but no luck this time.

Still on a black display :/

EDIT

I installed xf86-video-amdgpu, rebooted, and now my my xrandr output looks like that : http://ix.io/4ztO

I have no other resolutions available, which looks like is what is my actual issue. Don't know if that is relevant tho.

EDIT 2

See this post: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/only-one-screen-resolution-available-on-kde/68227/13

The gentleman here had a similar issue. What worked for him was changing his graphics card. He mentioned it was likely a divers issue since it worked fine on Windows.

I have a laptop so changing my graphics card is not an option unfortunately. Just thought this would be useful.

EDIT 3

Downgrading to the 6.3.6-artix1-1 kernel did "solve" my issue. Which is weird because switching to the LTS kernel did not help.

I guess I'll just patiently wait for a fix in the next update.
