For me I see this in the pkg info

Code: [Select]
$ packer -Qi xf86-video-intel
Name            : xf86-video-intel
Version         : 1:2.99.917+923+gb74b67f0-2
Description     : X.org Intel i810/i830/i915/945G/G965+ video drivers
Architecture    : x86_64
URL             : https://01.org/linuxgraphics
Licenses        : MIT
Groups          : xorg-drivers
Provides        : xf86-video-intel-uxa  xf86-video-intel-sna
.........
and my xorg.conf.d contains this
Code: [Select]
$ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
EndSection

I can confirm the breakage. After upgrading my system I get exactly the same error message as @Arch_user

For now I simply downgraded the "xf86-video-intel" package to the previous version with the following commands:
Code: [Select]
cd /var/cache/pacman/pkg
Code: [Select]
sudo pacman -U xf86-video-intel-1:2.99.917+923+gb74b67f0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

After downgrading the package I am able to log back into Xorg. I am curious if anyone else is experiencing this issue.

This is for legacy Intel graphics, right? Probably not that many others due to the fact that most users with Intel graphics are probably using mesa.

I took an educated guess based on commit history (even still, I'm not confident). Could somebody please try 1:2.99.917+923+gb74b67f0-2.1 from the world-gremlins repo?

I experienced the same problem and also was able to go on by downgrading to the previous version:

Code: [Select]
sudo pacman -U "https://archive.org/download/archlinux_pkg_xf86-video-intel/xf86-video-intel-1%3A2.99.917%2B923%2Bgb74b67f0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst"
