Inkscape prints way too small

Hi all!

Since quite some time, I printed something directly out of Inkscape. The output was way too small, ca. an A6 sheet when it should have been A4.

I played around a bit. When I export the document to PDF and print it with Okular, the size is okay. When I print it directly, a 10 cm square is 4,8 cm wide and high. I tested this with two printers, one of them by using a Brother-specific driver and printing driverless (with IP Everywhere). Same result in all cases.

I also see this exact behavior on my Gentoo machine. I thus thought this could be an upstream bug. But nobody reported it (and I'm for sure not the only guy printing something with Inkscape, am I?!). So I tried two virtual QEMU machines:

With LUbuntu 22 (obiously not running Plasma 6, but LxQt), the printing worked as expected. So I thought this could be a Plasma 6 issue.

To be sure, I also tried current OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. Also running Plasma 6. But there, printing worked as expected …

This is odd. What can cause this? Where can I even start to debug this?! Thanks for all help!

Yeah, of course. I forgot to mention that. First thing I did was to move ~/.config/inkscape so that I could try it with a new and clean configuration. Didn't help …
