Cat herdering cat rescue

Today was a great morning.  My retired neighbor in her 60's is Bonnie and she has some cats and a dog.  Her cat pepper had clawed the screen out to go sit on the window sill to escape Bonnies smoking.  He would jump from the sill to a tree and shimmy down the tree to come outside.  Because he's outside i ofc feed him because thats what i do.  Once i was able to get close enough to him to pick him up and return him home when she asked me to.  Once i was able to trap him in that trap Elsa donated to me some time ago.  When it got cold a couple weeks ago i started to try to trap him but he wouldnt go near the trap, not a second time..  But this morning after a night of 9 degrees Fahrenheit he came close enough for me to get him by the collar and put him in a carrier!  Praise Elohim.  I have been praying for him to relent and let me pick him up.  So this morning pepper was returned to Bonnie and Bonnie was so happy she donated some cans of wet food to feed some of my brood with.  Bonnie is about to sell her building so she wanted pepper inside to be sure she moved wioth pepper and didnt leave him behind.  Also i think the 9 deg overnight low gave pepper a clear dose of reality.  He chose the best opportunity available to him.  I had a talk with Bonnie about what makes her cat want to escape her place, namely the smoking.  She agreed.  So i gave her the option to quit or to smoke outside.  I made sure she understood the cat is afraid of her smoking.  So hopefully she takes that to heart so her cat feels safe at home.  It's a good morning.

Cats believe they are the lord or Queen (in my case).  ;)

Another way to think about this is... Pepper is just concern with Bonnie's smoking and can sense her blackened kidneys. He could no longer stand her way knowing she's suffering that he had to look away.

Or, yeah I hope she hears you and quit her addiction.
