Intermittent Loss of Video/Audio

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing a recurring issue on my desktop running Artix with Cosmic DE that I hope someone can help diagnose.

My system intermittently loses both video and audio while it remains powered on (the fans and other indicators stay active). When this happens, the power button becomes unresponsive, and I must force a shutdown by cutting the power at the power supply.

Details:

    System Specs:
        Board: Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC
        CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics (16) @ 4.673GHz
GPU: AMD ATI Radeon Vega Series
        RAM:  64 GiB Corsair DDR4
OS: Artix Linux x86_64 (rolling release)
        Kernel: 6.13.5-artix1-1
        Desktop: Cosmic DE

    Symptoms:
During normal usage (e.g., media streaming, general browsing), video and audio suddenly vanish.
The system’s fan continues to run, and the machine appears “alive” (e.g., background processes remain active).
The power button does not respond, necessitating a hard power off to regain control.

Has anyone else had this sort of issue?

You can first test with an LTS kernel, and if that does not fix the problem check the cosmic bugs, probably for cosmic-comp.

Linux is simple; use Artix, or Submit Your System To Evil Malicious D(a)emons

Thanks @Artist !  I'll give the LTS kernel a shot this evening.  However, the problem was happening with the KDE DE as well.

I'll let you know the results.
