Qt could hold back all open source versions 10 April 2020, 18:03:05 In a detailed e-mail Olaf Schmidt-Wischhöfer reports for the KDE community about current negotiations with the company Qt, which provides the technical basis for the free KDE software with the framework of the same name. According to the article, the company is currently in acute financial difficulties and is considering making all Qt releases available for twelve months only to paying customers.According to Schmidt-Wischhöfer, the company has now informed the community that the economic outlook in the Corona crisis is putting Qt under pressure to increase sales in the short term. The company is therefore considering restricting its publications over twelve months to paying customers. There are unlikely to be any publications of the open source code or contributions from the community.https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-community/2020q2/006098.html?print=cGh4Source: www, golem.degreetsRoberto
