[SOLVED] Mouse clicks not recognized upon startup

Kernel5.8.14
DEKDE Plasma 5.19.5
MouseLogitech G500
After booting up and logging in, and once the whole plasma shell starts, I can't click on anything.
Moving my mouse moves the cursor correctly, but the clicks (both left and right) are not registering.
Hovering the cursor above icons in the taskbar doesn't even highlight the items, nor are there any popups when hovering above the clock or anything else.
Thus far the only quick&dirty fix I've found for this is to switch to a different tty and then switch back (ctrl+alt+f1/7).
This also happens seemingly randomly (thankfully not often) while browsing the internet or after some period of inactivity.
I'm not really sure if there are any logs that would contain information about this.
I'm also using piper 0.5 and libratbag 0.14, but after removing them and rebooting the computer the problem still persists.
Note this started happening after I -Syu'd on 2020-10-02.

Here's the packages that were updated then:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Honestly I'm not really sure if this is a KDE issue or not, I'm just more open to suggestions as to what even is causing this.
Also worth of note I suppose is that while piper and libratbag were installed (in the last week), I could not configure any of the extra mouse buttons to act as middle mouse click.
That just wouldn't register no matter what, not even in xev.
Before the problem started, the buttons were are working fine.
I thought the nvidia fix would resolve it, but I guess it's something else.

put here
Code: [Select]
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log

that can be teoretically due low battery, or low signal/ big distance between reciever and mouse too. hard to say, at such a distance. If this would cause problems in another DE, then it will not be a KDE problem.

piper is uninstalled, but config files persist, you must remove config's files or another changes, what piper did in system too

Here's the Xorg log fresh from a startup.

Small update that wasn't in the log before but maybe worth noting:

Code: [Select]
[  2500.855] (EE) event18 - Logitech G500: client bug: event processing lagging behind by 24ms, your system is too slow
[  2539.008] (EE) event22 - Gaming Keyboard G110: client bug: event processing lagging behind by 26ms, your system is too slow

[  2816.795] (EE) event18 - Logitech G500: client bug: event processing lagging behind by 14ms, your system is too slow

These lines are starting to appear in the log after some regular usage.
I have an i7 and I'm pretty sure my system is not that slow, even with those vulnerability mitigations.
Cursory internet search suggests this may be connected to libinput or the compositor?

do simple test... works your mice under some of our ISO? If you boot to our ISO, works all ok? If yes, some problem with your setting

I've managed to fix this kinda.
Yesterday I've changed the compositor from OpenGl 2 to XRender, and today, when everything loaded after booting, the mouse clicks were working just fine.
Left/right mouse click works, hovering over icons highlights and tooltips/pop-ups are showing up as well.
Albeit, at the cost of some minor tearing in Chromium.

Soo this is actually a compositor issue, or more likely, a nvidia driver issue, I take it?

EDIT:
Updating Plasma to 5.20 fixed the issue properly, now I can use OpenGL2 as the compositor and the issue is gone.
