LXDM-GTK3 replacing LXDM 02 March 2021, 03:43:59 Hey guys! Its been a while since I've been here, I hope you're all doing good! Should I be worried about this update? I've got it installing right now, I'm a little nervous as I haven't updated in a few months, are any config files in different places or any significant changes / things to make it work I should know about? I'm making this post preemptively, sorry about that, I still use LXDE - I am not a fan of LXQT or XFCE yet lol.
Re: LXDM-GTK3 replacing LXDM Reply #1 – 02 March 2021, 07:31:54 Why should you worried? They replace gtk2 toolkit for gtk3, functions and all another should be stay same as before. Lxde-gtk3 is provided by archlinux, we provide only Lxdm-gtk3 (display manager) . Lxde is no more under extra active development, they just fix some bugs. Lxde (gtk2) will be remove due end of life of gtk2 - archlinux will remove gtk2 and only gtk2 apps soon...Isn't no another way. If you want use Lxde you must migrate to gtk3 (or keep your own build of old gtk2 and lxde). Last Edit: 02 March 2021, 07:37:35 by alium
