Issue with package manager in AUR

i use the 'Community qt' install.
recently i installed an NVMe drive (Samsung 970 evo plus) and decided to do a fresh install onto it. i have fully updated the system and haven't made any changes after that, other than turning on AUR support in the manager. had no issues on my other drive

ISSUE: when i try to install an AUR package via the package manager the client just hangs or outright crashes

AUR is not officially supported in Arch, and even less so in Artix, where there is an additional requirement for packages to not hard depend on systemd:

Warning: AUR packages are user-produced content. These PKGBUILDs are completely unofficial and have not been thoroughly vetted. Any use of the provided files is at your own risk.

Neither Arch nor Artix provide support for AUR packages, that's done by the maintainer of each individual package. Refer to the individual packages' page at https://aur.archlinux.org/ for support.

Warning: AUR helpers are not supported by Arch Linux. You should become familiar with the manual build process in order to be prepared to troubleshoot problems.

Octopi and pamac are not officially supported either, even though they are included in community ISOs.

Base ISOs are the recommended way to install Artix:

Base ISOs allow for a fully customised installation, which is done in a TTY and is intended for knowledgeable users. This is the recommended way of installing Artix and the team will be happy to support any issue.

Read the Artix news to stay up to date:

There has been an extensive discussion about this back in October:
https://forum.artixlinux.org/index.php/topic,3186.0.html
The final decision to include Octopi and pamac after all, though in an unofficial repository "universe", has been a compromise.

For example, in debian you can go back to using svinit for pid1 but you will staill have to install systemd because files are comipled with a dependency on systemd.  It will install even if you never use it and you can't get rid of it.
