[Solved]Trouble installing Artix S6 -- Xfce
UPDATE: I rewrote the iso to the usb drive, (as per the Arch Wiki, which I should read more thoroughly), and now the live OS boots as it should!
I usually use the weekly build when installing Artix, but as there seem to be no S6 weekly builds available (I am curious why), I downloaded the latest stable Artix S6 -- Xfce.
I used dd to write the iso to a usb drive as usual.
When I try to boot, it arrives at the pre-boot screen and I select "From Stick/HDD: artix.x86_64".
Then the following appears on the screen:
[ 1.72912] Initramfs unpacking failed: XZ-compressed data is corrupt
:: running early hook [udev]
:: running hook [udev]
:: Triggering uevents...
:: running hook [artix]
:: running hook [artix_loop_mnt]
:: running hook [keymap]
:: Loading keymap...done.
:: Mounting '/dev/disk/by-label/ARTIX_202104' to '/run/artix/bootmnt'
Waiting 30 seconds for device /dev/disk/by-label/ARTIX_202104 ...
ERROR: '/dev/disk/by-label/ARTIX_202104' device did not show up after 30 seconds...
Falling back to interactive prompt
You can try to fix the problem manually, log out when you are finished
sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
[rootfs ]# _
The lines above were manually transcribed and may contain errors.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
