Updating Via PackageKit fails on Artix

Hi, I am well aware that graphical package management is a bit of a taboo in Arch/Artix, but I noticed that applications managers based on PackageKit such as KDE Discover and the command line utility pkcon itself are unable to update packages on the system. Discover simply only displays updates for Flatpak applications/runtimes while when running "pkcon update" or "pkcon refresh" simply immediately writes the following to screen at once despite being a progress bar:

Code: [Select]
Refreshing cache              [=========================]
Finished                              [=========================]

Oddly, this issue doesn't seem to happen on a fresh install, though it always eventually becomes an issue. I've tried disabling the upstream Arch repos, but that doesn't seem to be the issue as far as I can tell.

Edit: Found a solution here: https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comments/o3t1g6/anyone_else_having_trouble_with_packagekit/

... unable to update packages on the system.

Artix USE="runit openrc slim openbox lxde gtk2 qt4 qt5 qt6 conky
-gtk3 -gtk4 -adwaita{cursors,themes,icons} -gnome3 -kde -plasma -wayland "

How does this help in any way? I'm asking a question about a package provided in Artix. I even said that I am aware that people don't recommend GUI package managers. Did you even read my post?

Also this non-attributed quote makes literally no argumentative sense.

??? You're complaining on the package management board about failed updates because you're using an obscure piece of software that can't do it?

I'm pretty sure that as soon as your screen goes dark, you'll understand my quote.  :-*

He wasn't complaining, he was looking for a solution and even found one.

It won't, at most the graphical front end won't work.

If you're not gonna help, at least you can keep silent

Poor guy even started the post with "I am well aware that graphical package management is a bit of a taboo in Arch/Artix"

The joke writes itself.
